I remember playing hide and seek as a child and those dreaded words, “ready or not _ here I come!” always seemed to come way too quickly and more often than not I wasn’t ready so I would be found.
It seems to me that all too often people are trying to play hide and seek with God (a futile effort I might add). Now if you happen to be one of those people remember that the words, “ready or not _ here I come!” also apply to a day that the Bible simply calls The Day.
To bring it into perspective our “day” is either the day we breathe our last or the day of Jesus’ return. The question I have is simple, whether it is “our” day or “the” day _ when it happens and it will _ are you ready?
Here is the good news: Jesus, the Son of the living God makes it possible to be ready because He came to planet earth _ lived a sinless life _ died on a cross to pay the sin penalty _ arose on the third day _ ascended into heaven _ and is coming again.
People, Jesus meant it when He said, “I am coming soon.” Are you as expectant and excited about that day as the Apostle John was when he said, “Amen. Come’ Lord Jesus.” Well, you can be because as John put it, “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.” (Revelation 22:20-21)
So church, in these “last days” _ until “The Day” arrives stop playing hide and seek with God and, “…stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
