I haven’t written or put in anything new for a while. This is just a note of update. I have done two sessions on “Board Meetings” and have four more booked in December and two in February. We are planning on beginning Session 2 at Swan Lake Conference Center on the asked for subject of “Making Sunday Special.”  The tentative date is Saturday February 23. We will bring either of these two topics or any others to your board at your church. They are two hour sessions.

We are also offering a 3 minute presentation to your board. Sharing what Church Encouragement Services offers to come along side your efforts to equip and train your church leaders. As always we can be contacted at rtdmin@hoosierlink.net or (574) 274-8288.

Together, seeking to bear much fruit for our Master, Larry

Church Organization Models

DIFFERENT MODELS FOR CHURCH ORGANIZATION

*All models begin with Christ as the head of His church.

*From there on it gets confusing. Most differences are with what comes next or second after
Christ.

*After the second priority the differences end and the similarities continue with Staff – Ministry Leaders & / or Committees

*Here are some of the most frequent vying for that second position. This concludes with results from the study “Biblical Foundation for Church Leadership.” This second
position represents the highest human authority in the local church.

The Congregation – thus called congregational organization.
The Presbytery – Presbyterians.
The Elders – most Christian Church & Churches of Christ.
The preacher or Sr. Pastor – many independent churches.
The Church Board. – various denominations.
The Deacons – many Baptist churches.

The following Organizational Chart
represents what we believe to be the most Biblical approach:

(1) CHRIST
(2) THE PASTOR / PREACHER & ALL THE ELDERS AS A TEAM
(3) STAFF – DEACONS – MINISTRY LEADERS – COMMITTEES
(4) THE CONGREGATION

THIS CHART REPRESENTS THE CONCEPT
OF THE SHEPHERDS OVERSEEING THE SHEEP

Trustees are only legal representatives for the State.
