I just began reading the book of Joshua again yesterday and today. That powerful message: – “Be strong and of good courage.” God worked it out so the people accepted Joshua’s leadership as they had accepted Moses. They knew that he was being led by God.
Are we being led by God today as church leaders? And do our people know that we are being led by God? Joshua did what God requested and that brought this result, this following of his leadership and confidence that he was being led by God. What can we do to make sure that happens with our leadership? May I suggest.
1. That we determine to follow His Word like Joshua did.
2. That we continually ask God to lead us.
3. That we ask for the leadership of His Holy Spirit.
4. That seek for our faith to be as strong as those Hebrews 11 people.
5. That we are strong and of good courage.
6. That we teach, preach and live the truth in love.
7. It would probably help if we spent more time in His Word and in prayer.
8. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
